Dubai. Indian Test batsman Cheteshwar Pujara has captured the second place in the latest Test Rankings released on Tuesday by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday. Team Captain Virat Kohli is at number five.Pujara had a partnership of 143 in the first innings against Sri Lanka in the second Test played in Nagpur. On the same innings, he has left England captain Joe Root and New Zealand captain Ken Williamson. Australia's Steve Smith is in possession of the first position.

Smith played 141 against England in the first Test of the Ashes series. Smith has completed 21 centuries in 57 Test matches with this century. Pujara has come in second place for the third time. Earlier, after the Test match played against Australia in the same year in Ranchi, he had occupied the second position for the first time. After that, the 133-run innings against Sri Lanka in Colombo was the second time this place was named after him.Pujara has moved from one place to the other, putting the 22 points in his account. Australia's Mitchell Starc has made a comeback in the top-10. He has moved to the 10th position.Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who took the fastest 300 wickets in the second Test, is in fourth place with nine points increase.
